Obituary

BROWNSVILLE, TX. - Maria "Celina" Benavidez Castillo entered into eternal rest on Friday, the 12th of March 2021 in Brownsville, Texas. She was ninety-five years of age. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lino Benavidez and Candida Guajardo; her husband, Guadalupe Castillo; her son, Guadalupe Castillo, Jr.; sister, Hilaria B. Rosas and brothers; Jose Roberto, Jose Angel, and Ramiro Benavidez.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving children; Hector Castillo, Vivian Esparza and Oscar Castillo;  11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren ; sisters, 
Rebecca B. Garcia, Ester B. Peña, and Aurora B. Dorsett  as well as numerous loving nephews, nieces, extended family and friends. 

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, the 16th of March 2021 between the hours of one o’clock in the afternoon and six o'clock in the evening, with the recitation of the holy rosary to be recited at six o'clock Tuesday evening within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at eleven o’clock in the morning on Wednesday, the 17th of March 2021 at St. Mary, Mother of the Catholic Church, 1914 Barnard Road, Brownsville, Texas 78520. Committal services will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park, 5 McDavitt Boulevard, Brownsville, Texas 78521.
